Brief Description
In order to promote gender equality, the Government has developed and implemented the National Policy for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality 2009–2016 and publicized relevant laws. The Institute for Women was established and inaugurated in 2009. Counselling centres for women victims of violence have been established in 49 municipalities.
