Brief Description

There has been variation in the availability of accurate routine statistical data on incidents of GBV over the years. This lack of documentation has given rise to serious problems of traceability, intervention and support for victims and survivors. However, since 2010 efforts have been made to ensure this availability and some data has been collected in the cities of Bangui, Bouar, Bambari, Bangassou, Batangafo, Paoua, Bocaranga and Ndélé in 2010-2011. From 2011, routine data collection mechanisms were piloted in the CAR, and those involved in the fight began to produce consolidated data from 2014. Since 2014, annual reports have been produced on the basis of cases of gender-based violence recorded by stakeholders using the GBVIMS.
