Under the aegis of the National Human Rights Commission, for two months in November and December 2018, religious leaders successively visited the towns and localities of the interior regions of Arta, Damerjog, Ali Sabieh, Assamo, Dikhil, Tadjourah, Randa, Obock and Fantehero to engage in dialogue with the people. Through dialogue and debate with the country's rural populations, the religious leaders are seeking to encourage a change in harmful behaviour with a view to abolishing FGM.
