The Sexual Offences Rules of Court were passed in 2014 and provide guidelines to courts for proper and efficient handling of cases pertaining to sexual offences against women and children. Under this, the courts are allowed to give orders that:
(a) ensure victims and vulnerable witness are treated in a manner that recognises their vulnerability;
(b) protect the privacy of victims; or
(c) protect the privacy of a child accused of an offence under the Act.
