Section 27 of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi adopted in 1994, and amended in 2010, includes the following provisions: (1) No person shall be held in slavery or servitude.
(2) Slavery and the slave trade are prohibited.
(3) No person shall be subject to forced labour.
(4) No person shall be subject to tied labour that amounts to servitude.
