The National Institute for the Promotion of Gender Equality and Equity

Brief Description

The National Institute for the Promotion of Gender Equality and Equity was created by Law 11/2008 and has prepared the National Strategy for Gender Equality and Equity, which seeks “to build by 2015 a society in which social justice, solidarity, equality, equity and respect for all citizens are real values deeply shared by all.”

The National Institute for the Promotion of Gender Equality and Equity is a National Mechanism charged with ensuring the promotion and execution of the Government's policy for the advancement of women and gender equality and equity in Sao Tome and Principe.
