The Government allocated the Family Tribunal with SCR 4.8 million (approximately USD 400,000) in 2011 for recurrent costs, which is an increase of 66% from the budget allocation in 2006 (not taking into account the inflation caused mainly by the devaluation of the local currency). Apart from child-related matters, such as child maintenance for single parents and child custody, a significant proportion of the Tribunal's work focuses on providing protection to victims of family violence.
