The National Anti Trafficking in Person Action Plan 2018-2021 recognizes the need for a coordinated approach to combat trafficking in persons and therefore looked into other National and International agendas, strategies and plan of actions such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the United Nations Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons (2010), the United Nations Global Initiative to Fight Human Trafficking (2008), the 10 year SADC Strategic Plan of Action on Combating Trafficking in Persons Especially Women and Children (2009-2019), the Tanzania Development Vision 2025 and the National Plan of Action to End Violence Against Women and Children in Tanzania (2017-2022).
The specific objectives of this plan include:
i) To create enabling policy environment and legal framework that facilitates successful implementation of interventions that are geared to combating trafficking in person;
ii) To provide an implementation framework that is geared towards combating trafficking in persons in increasing victims access to potential services; and
iii) To strengthen the coordination that foster partnership with all relevant stakeholders in combating trafficking in persons.
