Business and Professional Women’s Club of Barbados (BPW Barbados) conducted a one-week training programme for all health and related services providers that interface with survivors of domestic violence. This included doctors, lawyers, social workers, nurses, polyclinic personnel and teachers. The training aimed to sensitise the trainees about domestic violence and how they could collaborate with other agencies. This was done with the assistance of USAID. In 2017, they organised training in collaboration with Marina House, a residential treatment centre for women, for survivors of domestic violence and women in drug rehabilitation to explore the connection between the two issues.
