Brief Description


Prevalence Survey and Characteristics of Violence Against Women (Encuesta de Prevalencia y Características de la Violencia Contra las Mujeres EPCVCM) provides quantitative information on the prevalence of gender-based violence, with statistical indicators that allow the formulation of policies, plans and programs, to eradicate violence against women and act on its consequences. It allows to have a baseline and a system of indicators for monitoring and evaluation of national, regional and local policies and programs. This instrument allowed, for the first time, to have official data on the magnitude and typology of violence against women, in a total of 7,241 homes nationwide.
