Brief Description


The Government of Canada adopted a National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security that includes actions and performance indicators to guide activities to promote the active and meaningful participation and representation of women in peace and security operations and in peace processes, and to ensure women's and girls’ safety and security by helping to safeguard their human rights and protect them from violence, including sexual violence. In the National Action Plan, Canada commits to ensuring women’s and girls’ equal access to humanitarian and development assistance and supporting efforts to meet the specific needs and capacities of women and girls in all relief and recovery efforts.
