Brief Description

The Act No. 8925 was adopted in 2011. It amended the  Domestic Violence Act, creating an internal register of perpetrators administered by the judiciary, raising the initial period of protection measures from six months to one year, improving the access to justice for victims and allowing the criminal authorities to apply measures in the absence of domestic violence courts.
