During the period under review, the main legislation passed in 1995 has been the Domestic Violence (Summary Proceedings) Act, Cap 228 under which applications can be made by the spouse in respect of whom domestic violence has been perpetrated for an injunction, a Protection Order, a Tenancy Order, or an Occupation Order.The Domestic Violence (Summary Proceedings) Act, Cap 228 protects citizens against physical violence, mental injury, and harassment. Persons who can seek relief include persons who are living together as husband and wife, persons who are not married to each other but living together, and persons who were married to each other.
