Brief Description

The establishment of the Central Registry on Domestic Violence (CRDV) was one of the main achievements of the Gender Affairs Division. The CRDV ia a central repository of data on domestic violence which has been collecting data from various governmental agencies and key civil society organizations. The Registry allows the Government of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago to present a more reliable and comprehensive view on the incidence of domestic/gender-based violence in the country. Out of the CRDV data, trends are identified and programmes are developed to address the issue of domestic violence. The CRDV was officially launched in 2016.
