Brief Description


To address the information gap on the prevalence of violence against women and girls in the country, a nationwide survey on violence against women and girls was carried out by the National Commission for Women and Children in 2017. The study, "National Survey on Women’s Health and Life Experiences 2017: a Study on Violence Against Women and Girls in Bhutan" adopted the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) questionnaires on multi-country study on gender-based violence and covered 2,200 households and 2,184 women and girls.
