During 2016-2018, the LEPL (Legal Entity Under Public Law) State Fund has organized a project - “Reducing Domestic Violence in Georgia”. The project was funded by USAID. A training module on violence against women and domestic violence prevention/elimination and social work for victims of violence was prepared in the scope of the project and in cooperation with LEPL Social Service Agency. Around 244 social workers (employed at LEPL Social Service Agency, Fund and other non-governmental organizations providing services) were trained in 3 groups. In addition informational meetings were held in Tbilisi and other regions of Georgia with different target groups: teachers, students of higher educational institutions, representatives of ethnic minorities, internally displaced people, population in rural areas, Pankisi gorge population, residents of the villages bordering the administrative borders. Totally 1900 participants attended the meetings during 3 years of project implementation and got familiar with the domestic violence related issues, including preventive measures and services available at the fund.
