There are 70 Centers for the Prevention and Treatment of Domestic Violence state-wide, which are mostly state funded. The Centres are operated by Social Services, some jointly operated with NGOs. The Centres target: women, men and children (families), and provide the following services: consultation (elementary and in emergencies), treatment (victims, aggressors and children exposed to violence), education and prevention - in the community, guidance and training for professionals in this area. The public may approach the centers independently, or through referrals by social services, police, health system and other authorities.
