Brief Description


The Anti-trafficking in Persons Law aims to prevent, and suppress the trafficking in persons as a national duty; to prevent and suppress trafficking in persons while paying particular attention to women, children and youth; to enable effective and speedy investigation to expose and take action against persons guilty of trafficking in persons and to prevent further trafficking in persons by passing effective and deterrent punishment; to liaise and coordinate with international organizations, regional organizations, intergovernmental organizations formed between   governmental organizations and non-governmental organizations in accordance with the international conventions relating to suppression of trafficking in persons which Myanmar has acceded; and to perform effectively the functions of rescuing, receiving, safeguarding, rehabilitation and reintegration into society of trafficked persons.
