In 2010, the Family Safety Programme launched child helpline 1161111 with the aim of raising public awareness of children’s rights. This project is seen as a community based channel of communication through which children and those involved in their upbringing can talk through their concerns and problems. The personnel working for the project provide appropriate advice, make any necessary referrals to the competent bodies and follow up on the handling of cases.
