Section 29 of the action plan of the 100 days programme of the government implemented in 2015 as soon as the government came into power included "Enact new laws and enforce the laws to prevent abuse and sexual harassment of women and children". The ministry has established a Laws reforms Committee to work on section 29 for recommending new laws and amending discriminatory laws for the protection of women and girls. Some of the activities are conducted towards amending the Vagrance Ordinance, formulating laws to criminalizeing Marital rape and making recommendation on abortion law.
