Brief Description

As at July 2009, the Syrian Commission for Family Affairs conducted a country-wide quantitative survey on violence against women, in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Data collection had been completed, and analysis was to be commenced shortly. The survey is a multiple indicator cluster survey of 5,000 women representing all Syrian governorates (rural and urban), according to the Central Bureau of Statistics.
