Law: State Guarantees for Ensuring Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities for Women and Men

Brief Description

In accordance with the Law of Turkmenistan “On State Guarantees for Ensuring Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities for Women and Men”, the state guarantees equal rights for women and men to be protected from sexual assault, kidnapping and trafficking. Persons who have committed such actions bear criminal liability under the Criminal Code of Turkmenistan. This legislative norm is the basis for improving national legislation that reflects these issues, as well as for further legislative work in the prevention of violence against women in any of its forms.
