Resolution: Punishing Violence against Women and Girls and Increasing the Effectiveness of Legal Mechanisms for its Prevention

Brief Description

The Resolution no. 1 dated 04.12.2017 “On punishing violence against women and girls and increasing the effectiveness of legal mechanisms for its prevention” enabled the establishment of a Sub-committee “On gender equality and the prevention of violence against woman” as part of the Commission responsible for Labor, Social Affairs and Health. This enhances the oversight role of the Albanian parliament, not only regarding the measures to address domestic violence, but also for all forms of violence against women, in accordance with the Istanbul Convention.
