Under the European Union Daphne project entitled "Developing National Action Plans to Prevent and Eliminate Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) in the European Union", the first Austrian National Action Plan for the Prevention and Elimination of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) was presented in its initial version to the Austrian Parliament on November 25, 2008. Five working parties dealing with the subjects of women and children's rights, human rights, the media, denominations, and health are co-ordinated by African women's organisations. The Action Plan is published in book form in four languages (German, English, French and Arabic).
