In order to broaden our knowledge of gender-based violence, the Czech Grant Agency supported a research project focusing on partnership violence. The project followed up the International Violence Against Women Survey and provided a comparative analysis of partnership violence in 2003 and 2013. Several research studies were published within this project recently, showing that during the last 10 years both physical and psychological violence against women has decreased but remain a rather widespread problem in Czech society. The Office of the Government also commissioned other studies focusing on particular issues, such as availability of specialised social services for victims of domestic violence or the media coverage of gender-based violence.
