Update of Action Plan against Female Genital Mutilation

Brief Description

An Action Plan against Female Genital Mutilation 2012-2016 was updated in 2019 by the Institute of Health and Welfare, together with the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health. The aim of the Action Plan is to increase knowledge and competence of professionals who encounter clients from countries where FGM is widely practiced, especially in healthcare and social welfare, by ensuring that they are provided with training on how to talk about FGM. Another objective is to ensure the effective dissemination of information to groups at risk of being subjected to FGM.
