On June 21, 2019, the State Secretariat for Equality between Women and Men and the Fight against Discrimination published the National Action Plan to eradicate female genital mutilation (FGM), broken down into five areas : improve the health of female victims of sexual mutilation, raise awareness and better train professionals to better prevent FGM, eradicate FGM as close as possible to the territories, develop prevention tools, establish an inventory of FGM, and make France is an exemplary country in this area. A brochure for professionals in contact with children likely to be at risk of FGM has been distributed since June 21, 2019. This tool should allow professionals to better identify a risk or the existence of an FGM.
