In 2008 the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor established an award called the "Purple ribbon award". The aim of the award is to support the press:
- to avoid the spreading of stereotypes and misconceptions about domestic violence;
- to help in the prevention of domestic violence with authentic and balanced information;
- to become a partner in the enforcement of the principle of zero tolerance against domestic violence.

- televisions and radios,
- civil media
The first award ceremony was held on 1st April 2008. The application will be called for by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour every year.
