Brief Description

Engagement with crime victim support services remains an important element in informing overall policy development in the victim of crime area. In this regard Victims Services Consultative Fora, the most recent of which was hosted by the Department’s Victims of Crime Office in April 2018, brings together representatives from the respective criminal justice agencies which support victims of crime, with representatives from the victim support service organisations funded by the Victims of Crime Office (of which there are 57 such services in 2019). The main purpose of events of this nature are to discuss with victim support groups as to how the Victims of Crime policy legislation is being implemented across the criminal justice agencies and to allow the groups engage with representatives in relation to each agencies/services’ work on these matters.
