Brief Description


Legislative Decree No. 80 of 15 June 2015 provides for measures to reconcile the needs of care, life and work, so far amending Consolidated Act on the protection and support of motherhood and fatherhood referred to in Legislative Decree No. 151 of 26 March 2001, introducing measures aimed at protecting motherhood for a more flexible use of parental leave and opportunities for reconciliation for all workers.

With regards to domestic violence, the Decree provides for leave for women who are victims of gender-based violence and are included in duly certified protection pathways. In fact, it is possible for female employees of public or private employers, with the exception of domestic workers, as well as for female employees with coordinated or continuous collaboration relationships, to abstain from work for a maximum of three months for reasons related to these paths, guaranteeing them remuneration and other kind of support.
