Brief Description

The Domestic Violence Prevention and Protection Act makes domestic violence an offence and calls for multi-sectoral response to domestic violence, improves access to protection orders and high penalties for domestic violence as a deterrence measure. This act includes follow up work done by United Nations Development Programme Pacific Centre on costing the implementation of the Act which assess costs around the three main aspects of the Act, support and prevention, data collection and monitoring and the investigation and no drop policy.
