Samoa is the first small island State in the Pacific to launch its National Security Policy in 2018. The National Security Policy covers four key threats considered most critical to Samoa. This includes Border Security, natural disasters and climate change, cyber security and two aspects of human security which are gender-based violence (GBV) and health security are noted as main categories of risk to Samoa’s security and stability.
