The Penal Code (Amendment) (Sexual Offences) Act 2016 provides for stronger protection on sexual offences including child commercial exploitation. The amendment sets out definitions for different sexual offenses and provides penalties for the offenses. It provides victims of sexual abuse with access to justice and a mechanism of protection to the vulnerable. Since the enactment of the Penal Code (Amendment) (Sexual Offences) Act 2016, three cases of commercial sexual exploitation have been reported.
