Brief Description

The government activated the Family Protection Trust Fund established under the Family Protection Act 2013. The Fund is under the control and supervision of the Ministry responsible for finance and is administered in accordance with the Public Finance Management Act. Directions for withdrawal of funds to assist shelters and safe houses for victims of domestic violence and dependent children, community awareness and education programmes, counselling and healthcare services, transportation services and for any other purpose under this Act shall be the
responsibility of the Ministry acting in consultation with the Family Protection Advisory Council. The Fund shall be subject to audit by the Auditor General.
