Form of Violence | Violence against women and girls |
The 2018 ZDHS implemented a module of questions on domestic violence, the most common form of violence against women. In accord with the World Health Organization’s guidelines on the ethical collection of information on domestic violence, only one eligible woman per household was randomly selected for interviewing, and the module was not implemented if privacy could not be obtained. These restrictions resulted in a total of 9,503 women being successfully interviewed. Specially constructed weights were used to adjust for the selection of only one woman per household and to ensure that the domestic violence subsample was nationally representative.
