Twenty-five officers (22 male and 3 female) were trained on Domestic Violence Prevention - Consensus Building by Respect Educate Nurture and Empower Women (RENEW; a CSO dedicated to the empowerment of women and girls with special focus on the survivors of genderbased violence) in collaboration with the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP). The consensus building programme was initiated by RENEW in partnership with relevant stakeholders to provide timely and adequate services to the victims of gender-based violence (GBV). To ensure the sustainability of the training programme, an memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the RBP and RENEW and all Officer Commandants were trained on dealing with cases of domestic violence in 2017.
