Penal Code Criminalize Forcible Sexual Intercourse with Wife

Brief Description

The Penal Code 2017 defines forcible sexual intercourse with wife or with a woman as a criminal offence. Particularly, Article 252 of the Penal Code states that any person who has sexual intercourse with his wife or a woman by using force, coercion, threat against her will or when his wife or a woman is not ready to have sexual intercourse will be punished by imprisonment of three months to one year or re-educated without deprivation of liberty and fined. Where such an offence causing serious injury, the offender shall be punished from one to five years and shall be fined.
