Section 19 of the Constitution of the Republic of Malawi adopted in 1994, and amended in 2010, includes the following provisions: (3) No person shall be subject to torture of any kind or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.
(5) No person shall be subjected to medical or scientific experimentation without his or her consent.
