Brief Description

Senegal developed and implemented two National Action Plans to promote the abandonment of FGM for the period of 2000-2005 and 2010-2015. A National Strategy 2022-2026 and a National Action Plan 2022-2030 are currently being implemented in order to achieve the ultimate national goal of eliminating the practice of FGM in Senegal by 2030 - "A Senegal without FGM where all women and girls enjoy their right to physical integrity".
