Brief Description


Article 77 of the Constitution adopted in 2008, and amended in 2011, includes the following provisions: In any criminal proceedings where a person has been arrested and detained, the following basic guarantees shall be observed:
… 
8.No one can be required to make a statement in a criminal trial against one's spouse, life partner or relatives up to the fourth degree of consanguinity or second degree of affinity, except in cases of domestic, sexual and gender violence.
