Brief Description


Article 375 of the Penal Code states that a person is said to commit rape if the individual has sexual intercourse with a woman under circumstances falling under any of the five descriptions: against her will, without her consent, with her consent but under fear of death or injury, with her consent when the assailant is under the guise of another person, or with and without her consent when she is under the age of 14.  A person guilty of rape is subject to imprisonment that may extend to 30 years and will also be punished with whipping.
