Brief Description


The Government has set up the Central Victim Compensation Fund (CVCF) with a one-time grant of INR 200 Crores, to support and supplement the existing Victim Compensation Schemes notified by States/UT Administrations, in order to provide financial support to victims of various crimes like sexual offences including rape, acid attacks, crime against children etc. Moreover, the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2013 has also mandated all hospitals (whether public or private) to provide free medical treatment to all victims of rape and acid attack.
